Patient transport & health insurance
Do you handle patient transport billed via health insurance?
Yes. We bill directly with all statutory and private health insurers. All you need is a medical prescription for transport (“Muster 4”).
What is a transport prescription (“Muster 4”)?
It is the prescription for patient transport that your doctor issues, confirming that the ride is medically necessary. Simply bring it along to the ride – we take care of the billing.
Do I need approval from my insurer?
For many rides (e.g. dialysis, oncology treatment, care level with limited mobility, or markers aG/Bl/H) no prior approval is needed. For other outpatient rides the insurer approves in advance – we are happy to advise and help with the application.
What does a medical ride cost me?
For a prescribed ride you only pay the statutory co-payment: 10% of the fare, minimum €5 and maximum €10 per ride. Exempt insured persons pay nothing.
What is the difference between a patient ride and a medical transport?
A patient ride is a trip without medical care – e.g. seated in a car or in a wheelchair. A medical transport with care (e.g. lying down, with a paramedic) is handled by the emergency services. We provide seated patient transport.
Do you drive regularly to dialysis, radiotherapy or rehab?
Yes. Especially for series treatments such as dialysis, chemo- or radiotherapy and rehab we set up fixed, recurring appointments – punctual, reliable and with direct billing via your insurer.
Do you transport wheelchair users?
We offer seated patient transport in a car and accompany you from your door to your destination. We take your foldable wheelchair or rollator along. For lying transport or special wheelchair transport, please contact us in advance.

What is the fastest way to order a taxi?

Can I pre-book a ride?
Yes, anytime. For airport transfers, dialysis and regular appointments we recommend booking in advance so the right vehicle is ready on time.
How far in advance should I book?
For normal rides a quick call is often enough. For airport transfers, early morning appointments or larger groups it is best to book one or two days ahead.
Can I arrange fixed, recurring rides?
Yes. Whether to work, school or treatment – we are happy to set up regular rides at fixed times.
Are you really available around the clock?
Yes, Brenztaxi is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – including Sundays and public holidays.
Prices & payment
Are there fixed prices, for example to the airport?
For longer distances and airport transfers we are happy to agree a fixed price on request. Just mention it when booking – then you know the price before the ride.
How is the fare calculated?
Rides within town and the local area are billed by the official taxi tariff. For longer distances a fixed price is possible on request. You can get a rough estimate using our fare calculator.
How can I pay?
Cash or by debit/credit card. Medical rides are billed directly with your insurer, business trips by invoice.
Do I get a receipt or invoice?
Of course. On request you receive a receipt for every ride; business and medical rides are billed properly.
Airport transfers & travel
What happens if my flight is delayed?
No problem: for pre-booked airport pick-ups we keep an eye on your arrival time and adjust the pick-up. You do not need to call separately.
Where do I meet the driver at the airport?
We arrange this when you book. Usually the driver waits at the exit of the arrivals hall; if needed you can reach them by phone.
Which areas do you serve?
Giengen, Heidenheim and the entire Heidenheim district plus neighbouring towns. We also handle airports (e.g. Stuttgart or Munich) and long-distance trips nationwide.
Good to know
Do you offer child seats?
When booking in advance we provide a suitable child seat or baby car seat where possible. Simply tell us the age and number of children when booking.
Can my pet come along?
We are happy to take small animals and dogs. Please let us know the size when ordering so the right vehicle comes.
Do you have room for lots of luggage or several people?
Yes. Tell us the number of people and luggage when booking, then we send the right vehicle – a larger van too if needed.
I left something in the taxi – what now?
Please get in touch as soon as possible by phone or at info@brenztaxi.de. We keep lost items safe and return them to you as quickly as possible.
